Laura Liddell: So happy to be a Rogue, wish I were a Redhead!

As the title says I am so happy to be a Rogue Redhead. I suppose as I am not a redhead, unfortunately, I am a true Rogue Redhead! LOL

I was truly delighted to be asked to be one of the team members of this new enterprise, and even more delighted when the glorious stamps arrived. They are a joy to use, not only as the images are glorious but the quality is outstanding. They stamp very cleanly as the rubber is so deeply etched. It really does seem to make a difference.

Here is the first item I made with the stamp sheet.

As you can see it is a lovely image. I did a lot of paper piecing with this. Shar also sent us a few papers where the colours and patterns complemented the stamps perfectly. I love the paper for the chair and how it worked out. It really feels as if it could be a linen seat cover. Paper piecing is quite time consuming but I rather enjoy doing it and I find the results pleasing. It seemed to bring the image to life.

I felt this image very provocative particularly of unrequited love. So I teamed it up with the words from the sheet "Miss You". She is desperately trying to occupy her time with reading but as you can see she just can't settle with discarded books by her feet. The days of the week I felt were appropriate as it suggested the number off days of waiting for news and the fact that each day felt like the one before.

  1. This is gorgeous, Laura! You really put a lot of thought into the design, and it fits the lovely image perfectly!

  2. I love this card, Laura! The days of the week along with that thoughtful looking lass and the sentiment are all so perfect together. The paper piecing looks amazing, too.

  3. Love the dates down the side and the paperpiecing is really effective :)
    xoxo Sioux

  4. love what you did with the chair and the numbers to the side are a nice touch!
