Simple Set Saturday: Minor Variations

Happy Saturday! It's time for our Simple Set of the week!

Note cards are a popular gift for relatives and dear friends. It takes ages to come up with the perfect design and then you feel like you have to start all over again for the next card. Not so! Varying the color of the cards is an easy variant, but I would like to also suggest a twist by adding and varying texture as well.

I love the beautiful Lily of the Valley from the new Floriculture release. It can stand on its own so well and I have made it do so with this simple card design. I stamped the image, cut it out with an oval cutter and matted it with a rich color. I used the same color for the card base and added a white panel, dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, as the background. To increase the interest, I used a different Cuttlebug folder for each card. While similar and definitely a set, the cards are all different! Voila! Another 10 minute set!

Stamp used: lily of the valley from Floriculture (Rogue Redhead Designs)
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Night of Navy, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White (Stampin Up)
Ink: Paris Dusk and Rich Cocoa (Memento); Always Artichoke (Stampin Up)

Tools: oval cutter (Creative Memories); Cuttlebug machine and folders

To finish off, I would tie these cards up with a lovely white ribbon and include nice crisp white envelopes.
