RC002: Surf and Turf - Wet and Dry Embossing

Deadline extended: now open until September 8, 2011!

Whoohoo! Time for another Rebel Challenge for the RRD crowd! As usual, we'll be doing a challenge with a little bit of a twist.

To celebrate the release of RRD's new Beach Babes plate, we are challenging you to pair dry and wet embossing to create your own "Surf and Turf" creation.

1) You can use any products to participate in this challenge and use any papercrafting or mixed media format. You do not have to use Rogue Redhead Designs products but it would be fabulous if you did!

2) Your submission must include some stamping.

3) Please read the directions for the challenge. We like to add a twist here and there. Your submission must contain BOTH wet and dry embossing to qualify.

4) Links that are not to a single post (ie only to a general blog post) will not be accepted.

5) All submission posts need to include a link back to this challenge to be eligible for the challenge prize.

One challenge winner will be drawn randomly from the qualified submissions for a $15.00 US voucher at the RRD Etsy store.

This challenge will end on September 8, 2011. The winner will be announced on September 10, 2011.

I decided to make a scene using a stair-step card. For my creation, I stamped the sandy beach background on patterned paper with Tea Dye Distress Ink and clear embossed the result. It gave the "sand" some great depth and texture. I then dry embossed some sky and sea and added it to the back panel. After that, I stamped my figures and colored them with copic markers, attaching them to each "stair" of my card.

Have fun creating your own wet and dry embossing combinations and play along!
