Rebel Challenge #11: Warm Tones for the Gents

We are looking forward to Father's Day this month with our newest Rebel Challenge!  We want you to

Use Warm Tones
and Make a Masculine Creation

We reserve the right to delete submissions that do not
follow our guidelines!

Let's get well ahead on our Father's Day cards and our stores of gentlemen-centric cards.  I know I always am searching around for the perfect card for the special men in my life. Have fun and  go Rogue for the guys this month!

Please check our FAQ for all the info on our challenges!

Here's the short version.

1) You can use any products to participate in this challenge. You do not have to use Rogue Redhead Designs products but it would be fabulous if you did!

2) Your submission must include some stamping.

3) Please read the directions for the challenge. We like to add a twist here and there. Your submission must be suitable to give to a male recipient and use warm colors for your color palette.

4) Only links that are to a single post (ie only to a general blog post) will be accepted.

5) All submission posts need to include a link back to this challenge to be eligible for the challenge prize.  Please note: the challenge must be named in your list and not simply listed by its URL.  Thank you.

6) You can submit up to 3 entries and you may combine this challenge with up to 5 other challenges, but more than that and you will disqualify yourself.

One challenge winner will be drawn randomly from the qualified submissions for a $15.00 US voucher at the Rogue Redhead Designs Store. This challenge will end on June 3, 2012. The winner will be announced on June 6, 2012 and will have until July 6, 2012 to claim their prize.

Here's some easy ideas to get you started!

For the first card, I concentrated my stamping and inking on the background. I did direct-to-paper with some warm-colored distress inks. I evened out the color with some sponging and finished off by overstamping the Sandy Beach background from Beach Babes. I used the same colors to tint some collage circles from the Two Inch Circles - Debrina Pratt collage sheet by Retro Cafe Art Gallery. I then added a simple sentiment from the Bits and Pieces half plate.

On the next card, I went with a very simple design and lots of white space. I stamped the pennant and cat from Just Sayin' and paper-pieced the images using orange, red and yellow scraps.

For the last sample, I started with a distress-inked washed background onto which I stamped the old gent from Just Sayin'. I then masked him and sponged on more distress ink. I then added the border and corner element using dark orange and red inks. Finally, I added the sentiment for a fun "anytime" card.

Have a ton of fun with this challenge! As you can see, it is not limited to just Father's Day! Any guy-themed card is welcome!

To see some more guy cards, come back and visit our blog over the next month. Our Rogue Crew will show off some fabulous art!

Your turn! Find your creative rebel spirit!
