Colleen Oxford: Getting Grizzly

These bears have so much expression.
As I'm stamping I can hear their little conversations :)
Let's see if you can too...

Stamps: Sentiments, Crawling bear, Bear and honeypot, Sitting bear, Bee, Honey comb and Corner flourishes from Getting Grizzly plate.

"My Honey" I think that say's it all, this little bear looks like he'll have to be asked nicely to share :)

This one is such a CUTIE, just sitting there looking like she's begging for something special.

I love his eyes, they really give this sentiment the added 'tude that I felt this tag needed.

And finally, who would mess with this honey comb with those bees around ?

I wanted to challenge myself with making tags/mini cards using one 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper and scraps. I have huge bags of scraps and really have been trying to whittle them down :) I colored the bees and the bear with the honeypot with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, the crawling bear with colored pencils and blender pen and I left the sitting bear white.

Go to Rogue Redhead Designs to see this unBEARably cute full-sized plate. Which is still on sale for $17.60, just click HERE to go directly to Getting Grizzly.

Also don't forget, there's still time to join in the fun with this month's
Rebel Challenge, Tilt it, Baby!

Sharon Briss: Keep It Grizzly

A truly clean and simple card today!  I just seem to get enough of this cute little cub!

For this quickie card, I simply stamped the bear on X-Press It cardstock and colored it with copic markers. To add a bit of fuzzy look to my little bear, I pounced my blender pen over the bear once the ink was dry.

I hope you start Getting Grizzly with your art!

Stephanie Severin: Grizzly in Pink

When I first saw the new Getting Grizzly set, I could see a pink bear card in my future.  Growing-up, I had a pink teddy bear who was my constant companion, and to this day, a pink bear always makes me smile.  When I saw this week's CAS-ual Friday Challenge was to create a pink card, I knew the timing was perfect.

I stamped the seated bear in new Picked Raspberry Distress Ink on pink cardstock and detail-cut the image.  Next I used the same ink on the honeycomb background stamp on pink cardstock for the background.  I angled my octagon die cuts the same direction as the background shapes. I also added a little black glaze pen to his nose.

Since he looks like he might have just had a run-in with those two bumble bees, I thought the sentiment was perfect ... sometimes life hands you bee stings and you do just have to grin & bear it.  The layout is this week's Sketch Frenzy Friday.

simply thinking of you by Joanne Wardle

I haven't been stamping much recently, but I needed a simple thinking of you card, and decided that the fern leaf from the rogue redhead floriculture set was the perfect stamp. The words are from rogue redhead's ultra-useful bits and pieces set. Between these two sets you have a card suitable for almost any occasion. I find this fern leave particularly suited to masculine cards, something you might not expect from a floral set.
To create a subtle effect I used the second impression stamping of the fern leaf using peeled paint ink.

Barbara Washington: Cutie

I am having so much fun with the new release, Getting Grizzly. These bears are a little whimsical, a little cute, and definitely a bit grungy. They are fun to stamp together and they just jump when combined with a funky technique. For this card I stamped the two bears on white cardstock and masked them so I could stamp the background stamp. Then I die cut them with a Spellbinders die. I used the circle colored collage from the current Technique Junkies newsletter. The background panel was made by pouncing distress stains over the sheet and then spraying with water to blend them. I stamped the sentiment directly on the back panel.

Laura Liddell: Bear Hugs

Couldn't you just give this poor little bear a hug? Those nasty bees are tormenting him. It looks as if he may have been stung?

This is one of the new stamps available now, just follow the link in the side bar. I am quite fond of telling a tale when I stamp and with these stamps you can't help but do so. The bee is also from the same plate.

I coloured the images with Derwent water-soluble pencils. I left them as crayons but turned the shadow into paint by adding water. When it came to the bees wings I came up with a cool idea, at least I thought it was nifty. I added a spot of blue and a spot of green sparkly Sakura Gelly Roll ink and then immediately spread the colour with the clear sparkly pen that they have in the range. It gave a wonderfully subtle and soft colour that was like gossamer.

Sharon Briss: Grin and Bear It

This little bear may not be the perkiest creature you'll run into, but he certainly can cheer up one of your friends on a tough day. He looks like we feel when someone gives up the chipper advice to "grin and bear it". Okay, well maybe that's only me.

I love harlequin paper so it seemed a great fit for my little bear.  Originally, he had a lot of white next to him but I decided to use an extra piece of designer paper to brighten up the empty spot.  I tried to get it to line up with the other harlequin diamonds which wasn't as hard as I thought.

This bear might be grumpy but the great deals on Rogue Redhead Designs are sure to cheer him up!

Want Getting Grizzly? It's now on sale for an introductory price of $17.60 with our New Release Special! You can also get it bundled with EZ-Mount Cling Foam!  Check the Getting Grizzly main page!

Check out our Rogue Choice Bundle! This month, you'll find Beach Babes bundled with Floriculture for the low price of $27.50!

There are also more deals in our Singles area with limited availability singles from some RRD favorites.

Debi Ryan: Just Like Honey

I wanted to share with you this tag I've made using the really versatile Getting grizzly New Release Set.

I stamped first with the honeycomb background stamp, I then sponged in yellow and added some orange bees. I then stamped and coloured the bears. I added some forest greenery with the leaf stamp from the Floriculture set. I then added the sentiment  and added beeswax to the whole tag. Beeswax adds a lovely smooth texture and just slightly intensifies the colours, but most of all I love the divine smell that the beeswax adds, it smells just like honey. Finally I  stamped and cut a couple of bees and added them to the tag raising them on on foam tape.

Barbara Washington: Getting Grizzly

Well, it's Monday and I'm sharing a fun card I made over the weekend. These new images from Getting Grizzly certainly bring a smile to my face.
To create my card I used a piece of Core'dinations paper and dry embossed it with the cat tails. I sanded the embossing so that the kraft color would show through. I stamped the two bears images on watercolor paper and used distress markers for the coloring. These were cut out and adhered to the panel. I stamped the sentiment on kraft paper with brown ink. I cut out the sentiment which gave the little bear a log-like place to sit.

Stephanie Severin: Did Ya Hear?

This month's Rebel Challenge is a fun tilted sketch.  I used it to create this fun birthday card.

To me, this couple from Just Sayin' were crying out to wear some party hats.  The inside will say ... So-and-So is turning "50" or "40" or whatever the milestone birthday will be.

Can't wait to see what you create with this layout.

Here's some easy ideas to get you started!

For the this first sample, I went with all cool blues for this cool bear from our soon-to-be-release Getting Grizzly set!  I used a marvelous design element that I learned from the fabulous and amazing Joanne Wardle.  I grounded the bear with a strip of the patterned paper I used for my base panel.  I have seen Joanne add a strip of designer paper with a fab effect many times and couldn't resist trying it myself.  I stamped the bear's feet on the designer paper, cut out that part and added it to the card.

Stamp: standing bear from soon-to-be-released Getting Grizzly plate

For the next card, I used another bear, a sentiment and some design elements from Getting Grizzly.  Isn't he totally sweet?  I also used a piece of the background paper I made last week for Simple Set Saturday.  I took the sketch sideways for this one.

Stamp: sitting bear, bee, sentiment and corners from the soon-to-be-released Getting Grizzly plate

Finally, I went a little crazy with happy colors and the wonderful woman from the Just Sayin' plate

Stamp: woman from Just Sayin;

Trisha Too: a Rogue-ish tag . . .

First, congratulations to all the Rogues who joined in the Warm Tones for
Gents challenge--fantastic cards, ladies!

This Rogue-ish tag was created using one of the sylish Milliner Misses.  (I
think she's quite pretty as is, but now wish I'd given her a little Rogue rouge!)
The the main tag is stamped with the netted background from the Just Sayn'
plate, and the smaller tag uses a sentiment and one of the lovely roses from
the Floriculture plate.
