Annette Goatley: Moos and an Inside Out Canvas using Shrink Plastic

Hi, hope you have entered your Scraplings and Moos in the great challenge this month.....
Here are a couple of Moo Cards with envies to match.

The stamps are from the Floriculture Plate.   They were stamped with Stazon on Shrink Plastic, without shrinking it as an experiment and coloured with Alcohol Inks, not bad for a first go...........

Its all about experimenting today so hence am now showing an inside out Canvas using Shrink Plastic as its normally used, well you have to try don't you.......

Stamps are from the Beach Babes and Just Sayin' plates.  Materials used:  A Mini Canvas, Shrink Plastic, Scrunched Tissue, Modge Podge, Glass Beads Texture Gel, Acrylic Paint, Gesso and Gold Micra Beads.

Just realised these are my last projects for Rogue Redheads as Guest Designer, the three months have flown by.  Thank you for all your support.

Happy Sunday and thank you for popping in and telling me what you think.  Take care of yourselves,
Hugs Annette x

She: Midge!

Hi there.........

I have a slightly different (for me!) card to show you today.....A 'Stepper' card.......

I have used Midge from 'This N That' I just love ♥ her.....

I also decided to go for a 'Blue' tone......Midge is coloured with Copics and mounted onto some Nesties.

I did cheat and bought the card already in the 'stepper' shape........I am not known for my measuring and cutting skills!!!

The sentiment is matted onto smaller Nesties to match. I made most of the little 'tatty' flowers, I just added some small Roses and Pearl blobs.

Thanks for looking....

Krisha: A Stroll with The Beach Babes

In anticipation of our next trip to the BEACH! (only 4 more days, and a few hours away) I pulled out one of the Rogue Redhead Designs stamps
from the Beach Babes: RRD005 plate to make this card. Isn't she a cutie? I colored her with Prisma
colored pencil and markers.
She is mounted on a piece of Graphic 45 paper then on to a dotted paper from my stash.  Some lace, trim and lavender buttons to finish it off. The sentiment is also from the same plate of stamps.( I do hope you all had a chance to take advantage of the sale RRD had this month)

Debi Ryan: Chalkboard Card

I've been keen to try a Chalkboard card for a while now, I've used a handful of stamps from Relish Reading and Bits and Pieces.
Easy to achieve, I used a white ink pad and pencil on black cardstock. To make it a bit for feminine I added lace and bling.

Hope you're enjoying a good week.

Barbara Washington: Moos

Our latest Rebel Challenge - Slender Benders--Scraplings and Moos continues until July 7, 2013. Join us for a chance to win a $15.00 voucher to the RRD store.

This was another new experience for me. I had seen moos before, but I never tried to create them. These little art forms are a lot of fun to create.

My first moo features my favorite little cat from the RRD stamp set, Just Sayin'. I first stamped the cat; then I masked it and stamped the floral pattern behind him. I added a little color and edged the moo with antique bronze distress stain.

My next moo uses the Nature Notes RRD stamp set. I stamped a portion of the trees on my card stock using Ranger's embossing ink.  Then I heat embossed the image using Powder Keg white orchid embossing powder. I love the sparkle in the embossing. I stamped Carpe Diem on a separate piece of cardstock, cut out the individual words as word blocks, outlined them with black soot distress stain, and adhered them to the moo.  The moo was then edged with the bronze distress stain.

The third moo features the RRD stamp set Floriculture. I simply stamped the flowers and the word on the card. The color was added using distress markers. I finished it off by edging the card with the distress bronze stain.

Annette Goatley: 'Beyond the Blue Horizon'

Hi, for my Guest Rogue piece this Sunday is a little different from the norm, but guess that is why Shar refers to us as Rogues.............

Beyond the blue horizon
Waits a beautiful day
Goodbye to things that bore me
Joy is waiting for me
I see a new horizon
My life has only begun
Beyond the blue horizon
Lies a rising sun

By Leo Robin

This is a page from my Art Ideas Book and the above song inspired this piece, its a mixture of my artwork, digital lights and Rogue Redheads stamps from the Beach Babes plate, hope you like it.

Wishing you a goodly Sunday and a great week ahead.  Hugs Annette x

Vicki Robertson - Moo Journaling!

I've been working on a Project 12 art journal for 2013.  The topic of my journal is one word, "Reason". Each month I create a mixed media page for my journal that includes a quote containing or about the word "reason".

For June, I used my Rogue Redhead Design stamps along with our current Rebel Challenge #24...Slender Benders, Scraplings and Moos for my journal page.

I love playing with all of the different mediums when I am working on a page.  It's a messy project, but the end results are my claim to fame!

I started with watercolor paper and lots of mists.  When the mists were dry I stamped images from the Rogue Redhead Designs This N' That , Beach Babes, and Just Sayin' Stamp Plates  randomly around the page with black and white ink.
Next I added some glass bead texture gel using one of my favorite templates.  More wait time for the glass bead gel to dry before moving on.

The journaling, a quote about reason, was next.  I typed the quote on white cardstock and cut it into strips to adhere to the page.

In the lower left corner of the page, I added a music staff that I die-cut from black cardstock.

I created my Moo with some scrap patterned paper and one of the images from  the Rogue Redhead Designs Beach Babes Stamp Plate. I stamped the same image on black cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder.  Next I colored the embossing image with Copics, cut it out, and used it to shadow the image on my Moo.

From my stash...
Basic Grey Chipboard Number

Close To My Heart White Embossing Powder

Hampton Arts Mist

Krisha: Nature Notes and Water

Oh, I just love the versatility of the Nature Notes:RRD011 plate of stamps.  For this card I went back to an old technique.  Using a water base marker to color the stamp, then a light spritz of water, then stamp the image, you create more of a water color image.  I repeated the same technique for the background using Behind the Scenes RRD012 Bubble wrap stamp and a denim blue ink.  The sentiment is from the Nature Notes plate also.  The main image is mounted on navy blue cs and everything is mounted onto the same navy blue card base.

Rogue Redhead Designs is having a fantastic sale this month, so don't miss the chance to get these wonderful images at a great price.

Debi Ryan: Moo Cards

Our Current Rebel Challenge is all about Moo's I've been wanting to make some of these little chaps for a while, so this was the perfect chance.

I decided I liked the idea of sets of moos, which I would then add to cards. For my first trio, I used the yacht  from Beach Babes, and then popped the yacht in 3 different scenes, Summer seas, a storm and by Moonlight. I've then added them to a simple Kraft card base.

Next I did hearts:

For this Love duo, I stamped the hearts from Snow Hugs, and then coloured them with red and gold. I love how they turned out so lush, and added more red gold and black to form the card.

Check out the Rebel challenge post for more moos and details.

Colleen Oxford: Storage

I, like many of you, am running out of room.
So I have 2 choices...1: stop buying or 2: figure out successful storage.
I chose the latter.

DVD cases for unmounted stamp storage leaves you with an open slate for decorating and takes up alot less space.

I have cut a piece of designer paper (NOTE: cardstock is too thick) and cut it down to 10 3/4 x 7 1/8.  Open your DVD case and measure to get the best dimensions.
I then stamped my image onto a piece of white paper and adhered it to the front.

Sorry for the glare in the photos :)

I finished by writing the company, name of set and number in the set (Behind the Scenes are big so I made 4 cases, labeling 1 of 4 and so on) on the front and the same information down the spine.

Be sure to checkout the fabulous Spring Sale happening at Rogue Redhead Designs.

Barbara Washington: Scraplings

Help! I can't stop. I did not know what a scrapling was until this months RRD challenge. I decided to make one for my post today, and before I knew it, I had four done. It was so much fun. I had to stop so I could write my post.
Stamps from Nature's Notes

Stamps from Relish Reading, Just Sayin' and Behind the  Scenes

Stamps from Beach Babes

Stamps from Just Sayin' Nature Notes, and Behind the Scenes
This month's challenge is Slender Benders: Moos and Scraplings. I completed these four scraplings before I decided I had to stop. Moos and Scraplings are tiny canvases which you can use to create art. [Moo (1 1/8" x 2 3/4" and Scrapling (1 1/2" x 4 1/4" folded)]. Join in the challenge before July 7, 2013. Add your work to the challenge linky for a chance to win a $15 voucher to the RRD store.

I used stamps from Beach BabesBehind the ScenesJust Sayin:, Nature Notes, and Relish Reading in my samples.

Don't Forget the Rogue Redhead Designs Super Sale before it comes to an end. All unmounted stamp plates are on sale in the RRD store until June 21, 2013.

Helene Huber: Beach Tag

This is Rogue Redhead stamps meets Ranger  products.   You may recognize some of the tag techniques and the basic design found this June on the internet (should I mention the initials TH?).  I, of course, added my own twist with the sandy shore and the use of RRD stamps.

I stamped the girl, shell, and sentiment on canvas paper with Coffee Archival Ink.  I colored with Ranger Distress Markers and a water pen.  All images are from the Beach Babes stamp plate as is the sand background stamp below.

I've tried many techniques to create sand and I really like the look of this one.  I used my new Ranger Emboss It dabber directly onto the sand background stamp; after stamping, I heat set Ranger antique linen distress embossing powder.  I think it really looks like wet sand at the beach and it really brings out the sand design of this stamp.

The tag itself is the swipe, spritz, and swish method of covering a tag with distress paint, distress ink pad, and distress stain.  To create more of a feeling of water and sky at the top of the tag, I stamped the handwritten music sheet background stamp with Ranger distress ink in Tumbled Glass.  I chose this stamp from the Behind the Scenes plate, because the girl is hearing the sounds of the sea (music) coming from inside the seashell.

She: Love Birds.

Hi there.........

Today I have a card to show you you using the Love Birds from the fantastic 'This N That' set.........Check it's at a super sale price!

I decided to go very 'Monochromatic' on this one! Love Black and White!

I just coloured the birds head with a little Blue/Grey Copic pen.

I cut a couple of little tag shapes and stamped the sentiment onto the white one.

The size of these stamps lend themselves very well to nesties too....

All that was needed were some matts (cut in my usual not very straight style!!!)

This is going to be the card I send to my husband for our anniversary at weekend........

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon......

Vicki Robertson - Beach Babes

Today, I'm sending you "Oceans of Love".  With Father's Day just a few weeks away, I thought a Father's Day card was the way to go with this fabulous Beach Babes Stamp Plate!

The sailboat and bird images along with the  sentiment were stamped using the Vintage Beach Babes Stamp Plate from Rogue Redhead Designs and Tsukineko Memento Rich Cocoa Ink.

I used two embossing folders on my card.  The blue background cardstock is embossed with the QuicKutz anchor embossing folder.  I love these mini anchors!  The next layer was embossed with the striped folder from the same Nautical set and used between the stamped image and the embossed background.

I tied a square knot with a piece of twine and wrapped it around the sentiment banner
The lower left corner of the image layer is punched with Just Imagine Kreaxions #310, 4 in 1 punch.  I love that it looks like a splash of water.
