I can't believe we're already into August and summer soon will be over. Perhaps Carpe Diem is a fitting quote for capturing that last bit of vacation, sun and sand.
Although this lad most likely has a book under his arm, I have always thought of him as a newspaper boy. Today's card is no different.... There is a reason why he's a paper boy which I explain on my blog,
Stamp almanac background stamp (Relish Reading plate) with jet black Archival Ink onto beige card stock. Cover with glue. Crush tissue paper, then place on top of almanac card and press tissue and glue with brayer. Trim and edge with Ranger Weathered Wood ink.
Using Spellbinders Nestabilities Curved Rectangle die cuts, cut two mats.
Mats: Rusty Pickle School Daze Detention and Heidi Grace cardstock pad (text side)
Edge mats with Ranger Vintage Photo Distress Marker
Stamp boy (Relish Reading plate) with jet black Archival Ink onto beige card stock, fussy cut leaving a beige margin around image for contrast against mat.
Stamp sentiment Carpe Diem (seize the day) from Nature Notes plate with jet black Archival Ink onto beige card stock. Trim and mat onto reverse of Detention paper.
Rip a scrap of the Detention paper, edge with Antique Linen, and haphazardly fold.
Assemble onto Card: Heidi Grace cardstock pad (plain black side) using pop dots where needed.
