Helene Huber: Red, White and Blue Midge

Happy Friday!

Today I have Midge dressed in red with a blue feather. I wonder where she's headed off to....  the possibilities are endless.

All papers are DCWV.  Midge is stamped three times on 3 different colors, then fussy cut to paper piece her ensemble. I layered label die cuts to add dimension and emphasize the color combo.

Both Midge and the sentiment are from the latest stamp plate, This N That.   It's still being offered at the special introductory price.

I hope it's possible for you to stamp this weekend!  Helene

She: Gorgeous Midge.....

Hi there....
I have a card to show today made with the gorgeous Midge from the 'This N That' set.

Love ♥ her, she could have absolutely been made for me!

She is stamped onto cream card, clear embossed and coloured with Copics.

I love how she fits in the Nestie circle and I have just cut a scalloped circle for her to sit on!

She just needed some toning papers from my stash and punched flowers.

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon.

She xx

Vicki Robertson: Wedding "be mine" card

Vicki here with a wedding card today!  I used the love birds from the recently released,  This N' That Stamp Plate.  The other stamps in the set have found their way on to projects I have created, but the birds finally left their nest!

This wedding card will be for our nephew's wedding in September.   I used a new collection of papers from Close To My Heart along with some Bazzill craft paper for the card base.  The sentiment and image are stamped on a Spellbinders Oval die-cut with Tsukineko Memento and colored with a Viva Decor Pearl Pen and Copic markers.  The black matting is Spellbinders Beaded Oval Nestabilities. The oval pearls have been in my stash for a long time and are made by Wilton as is the cake charm.  The white flower is the new Sizzix Mini Lily Thinlit mounted on a Petaloo polk dot flower.  I tied the crinkle bow using my Craft-Dee Bowz tool.

You can purchase the This N' That stamp set two different ways...
RRD's This N' That plate will be on sale at an introductory price of US$12.00 until May 30, 2013 when it will return to it's regular retail price of US$15.00.  It is also being offered in our Rogue's Choice Bundle along with the Milliner Misses mini collection from April 17, 2013 through May 30, 2013 for the sale price of US$18.00 (Reg. US$22.00).

Annette Goatley: Birds in the Hot Seat......

Hi, from the comments I received last Sunday both here and on my own blog,  as to whether I should do Midge or the Birds, they came out about equal.   As you can see I chose to do these fab birds.....

The background was painted with Black Gesso.  Used a Circle for a Mask and painted in Acrylics, then spread a little glass bead gel over some of the area which gives a beautiful textural finish.

Wishing you a Happy Sunday, take care of yourselves.  Hugs Annette x

Krisha: Midge in Lace

Once again I am using the NEW This N That Stamp Plate from Rogue Redhead Designs, and using Midge as the center image for a vintage style hanging. She was colored with Prisma colored pencils, even the background, then trimmed with a lace and pearl trim. The chip board base was covered with un-bleach muslin and stamped with the Behind the Scenes script stamp RRD012 in aged photo ink. Lay Claim to Your Fate was stamped in the lower corner with the same distressed ink. I placed Midge at an angle for a little more interest. Pearl swirls and lace trim were added at the bottom, a grunge flower in the corner, and a gold trim was used for the hanger.

Debi Ryan: Carnival Lovers

I'm sharing another card with you this week. I've made this for hubby- it's our anniversary next month. What could be more perfect than the lovers from Carnival Dreams,  it's romantic and quirky. I think this might be another of my All time fav stamps lol.

I've stamped the background using Behind the Scene stamps: script and the music notes.
I have stamped directly onto the Kraft cardstock and inked with Walnut ink, to get an aged look. The sentiment is from the Snow Hugs set.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Barbara Washington: Just for You

Each time I get a new set of RRD stamps, I'm sure it's my all time favorite. That's how I feel about the stamp sets, This n That (image an sentiment) and Behind the Scenes (background), that I used on this card.
I used the 3D Shadows technique from Technique Junkies on the image panel. The birds are popped up over the shadow. For the background I used white ink to stamp  the bubblewrap stamp from the Behind the Scenes set. I added some bakers twine and some roses as embellishments. Have I mentioned that the current May Rebel Challenge is May Flowers? Join us by June 2, 2013 and share your art. There's a great prize too.
Don't forget to check out the specials available until the end of May.

Annette Goatley: 'Just for You Midge' and a Shrink !!

Hi, hope you are enjoying Sunday.  Thought I would use 'Midge' from the new 'This and That' half plate for a change instead of using those two fab birds...............

This time I stamped her on Distress Inks and layered her up on hearts which have been outlined in gold paint. The background is made from the acrylic squishings technique.  Other products used are Bead Gel and Stickles.  The 'Just for You' is on this half plate as well.

Oh No, you cry...........Midge has been shrunk............to tell you the truth she asked me to..........and this is how she ended up......... Painted and stamped on watercolour paper using the Floriculture plate with a little bit of my own art thrown into the mix.

Hope to see you again next Sunday and would like to know whether I should show 'Midge' again or 'Birds'. Just write in the comments below please as I just cannot make up my mind.................am such a ditherer.
Take care of yourselves, hugs Annette x

Helene Huber: Just a Little Bit

I was cleaning up my craft table when I came across a bit of tag left over from a project and a scrap of black card that had been cropped off. Those little bits and pieces come in handy for a quick note card.

The black card's fold is at the top.   This lovely flower is stamped with jet black Archival ink on top of the inked bit of tag and finished off with a bow.  (Ranger distress ink pads and Dylusions spray ink were used.)

Rogue Redhead Designs has many stamps that can be used for smaller projects.  This particular flower is from the Floriculture stamp plate.

Don't forget the current Rebel Challenge is May flowers!

Have a scrappy, crafty weekend!  Helene

Debi Ryan: Notecard Misses

For todays post I've made 4 notecards, with scraps of pretty patterned paper and the Misses from Milliner Misses and Midge from This N That.

I love Midge :-) She's bigger than the other Misses, which means she's easier to colour, and I love her wearing green.

The three Misses together are so elegant, I'm always wondering where they're off too.

Finally Pretty in Pink, this miss has a bit more sparkle than the others, which i added using glitter gel pens.

Have a great week, Debi x

Vicki Robertson: This N' That Checkered Background Stamp

Vicki here with a layout that I created using the checkered background stamp from the This N' That stamp plate.  It was perfect for this dirt bike racing page!

I followed this sketch from My Sketch World

I love the hexagon shapes that are spaced throughout the sketch.  However, it was the journaling placement that caught my eye and helped me make the decision which photo I would use on my layout.

This layout is the second in an album I am making of my nephew and his dirt bike racing.  When I see photos of him flying through the air or doing some kind of wild twisted turn, my heart skips a beat.  Talk about living dangerously!  I have a motorcyle and although it's not a dirt bike, it's still a two wheeled vehicle.  I can't imagine doing what he does with his bike.

Recently, his sister took a photo of him at the beginning of a race and caught him at a very poignant moment of prayer.  Apparently, something he does at the start of every race.  I typed the prayer and copied it onto vellum paper to use on the layout.  The placement of the prayer coincided with his image in the photo perfectly.

"He Prays"

Using mists and stencils, I created a pattern of hexagons on my background paper.  Next, I stamped and cut numerous hexagon shapes in different sizes and colors using scraps from my stash and die-cuts.  The checkered background stamp from the This N' That plate was just what I needed to symbolize a winner!

The placement of the photo was next.  This was integral to where the journaling would go.  I cut the vellum journaling strip and placed part of the prayer above and the remaining part below the photo of my nephew praying.  Now it was time to work in the details and embellishments.

Following the sketch I added the hexagon die-cuts around the photo.  I used pop dots on the back of some of the shapes for added dimension.  In the upper right corner of the photo, I inked around a sticker that I had of a dirt bike racer.  Then, I mounted it on cardstock and cut it out.  Using more pop dots, I gave it "air time" and off set it from the inked image.

I made a pennant banner using die cuts for across the bottom border of the layout. The pennants were also stamped with the checkered background stamp from the This N' That stamp plate.  Just above the banner, I added the chipboard title, "He Prays".  His racing number is "338", so I took some numbered patterned paper from my stash, die-cut hexagon shapes, pieced them together for a tag and popped it up in the bottom right corner of the layout.  I also placed another of the biker stickers adjacent to it in a hexagon frame.

Thanks for looking...I hope you are inspired to add the This N' That Stamp plate to your stash!

Krisha: Journaling with This N That

What a fun page to work on, and of course I got to use my This N That RRD013 love bird stamp!!  In the background is the script stamp from the Behind the Scene/RRD012 Stamp.  The circles were made with Gelatos, a stencil, and  my finger...LOL  There was also texture added with a heart stencil and modeling paste, after it dried I blended some Bubble Gum Gelatos over the page here and there.  I stenciled the "love" then painted the letters black, and added a heart around the love birds.  Some outlining with a white gel pen finished it off.  I have been having so much fun with this new plate of stamps!!!  I do have a step by step tutorial, with a lot of pictures on my blog if you feel like you need further assistance.
Inky Hugs

Colleen Oxford: Bird Crazy!!!

I have been the Crazy Bird lady this year with my camera by my couch trying to caught a great picture of the Beautiful birds that have been flitting about outside.  I have not had any time to print out the pictures but here is a layout I have whipped up (1: 4x6 and 3: 2.5x2.5).

One of my Favorite features on this page is the string that I strung across the bottom knotted with ribbons, to me, representing how Birds make nests.  Those birds are too cute :)
Since I'm missing the pictures I have left Mattes.

Here are the Pictures I plan on using...

2.5x2.5

2.5x2.5

2.5x2.5

If you haven't had a chance yet head on over to Rogue Redhead Designs and check out the

Barbara Washington: Happy Mother's Day

Since Mother's Day is just days away, I thought I would share a project for Mother's Day. I created an easel card box. Doesn't Midged make a beautiful image on the card. She is from the new release, This N That. All of the stamps on this half sheet are wonderful and guess what, it's still on sale. The sentiment is from the half plate, Bits & Pieces, a wonderful set of versatile sentiments which will get you through many occasions.
My daughter will receive this for Mother's Day from my darling grandchildren. The box is the perfect place to put a small gift..

Simple Set Saturday: Tempus Embossus

Today's card is beyond easy!  I've used two types of embossing, dry and heat, to make some very simple cards.

To make this quicky set of note cards, you need 3 pieces of white cardstock and 2 pieces of black cardstock, 1 piece of glossy cardstock, an embossing folder (I used my Cuttlebug), clear embossing powder, a heating tool and a variety of distress inks.  Most of these things are already in my collection of crafty supplies.

I started by cutting the glossy cardstock into quarters.  I only need two quarters for this set so I can reserve the other two quarters for other fun projects!  I stamped my clock face from This N That several times over the individual quarters with Versamark, making sure not to overlap any of the images.  I then covered the panel with clear embossing powder and heat embossed both panels.

The next step was to pick out some distress inks.  I used four to five on each panel.  I started with my lightest and brightest distress ink and sponged it onto the card in three or four random spots.  I continued to fill in the white areas in patches, moving from lightest to darkest inks.  I finished off by adding a little more of my lightest color over the whole panel and spritzing the panel with water for a more "fluid" look - sorry, couldn't resist the pun.

I set my panels aside to set a bit.  To make the bases, I cut two of the pieces of white cardstock in half, 5.5" x 8.5".  I folded these in half.  For the larger black mat, I cut 4 panels of 5.25" x 4.00" from one of the pieces of black cardstock.

Next I cut 4 panels of white cardstock from the last piece of white.  These measured 5.00" x 3.75".  I then went back to my inked panels and cut these down to 3.5" x 2.0".  Finally, the last set of 4 black mats were cut 3.75" x 2.25".

To give the cards more dimension when I assembled the matted panels, I added pop dots to the back of the matted inked panels.  I liked the extra shadow and depth that it gave the cards.

Obviously, this beyond simple set could be made with any single stamp and any embossing folder.  The variations are literally endless.

Liked the vintage clock face?  Check out the other images on our new This N That plate!  It's currently on sale for $12.00 until May 30, 2013!  We have a ton of specials and bundles on right now so don't miss any of the great bargains!
