Barbara Washington: Reading or Daydreaming

It's the end of September and the kids are back to school in full force. Is this young lady daydreaming or studying? My card today features stamps from Relish Reading (image and sentiment) and Behind the Scenes bubblewrap (background). My card is also a sample for the current Rebel Challenge,  Autumn Colors.
To make my card, I started with a piece of glossy cardstock for the background panel. First, I dripped alcohol ink in various fall colors on the panel and then uses compressed air to blow it around. On top of the ink I stamped the bubblewrap background. I die cut leaves and adhered them to the panel. I stamped our young lady on a separate piece of paper and colored her using watercolor pencils. I cut her out and attached her to a die cut layering panel. I stamped the sentiment on a separate paned and added a border.
I hope you'll add your art in the Rebel Challenge. You still have a few days to join.

Helene Huber: Boo-tiful Witchy Woman

This is my RRD design team sample for the Rebel challenge.  Be sure to enter HERE  by October 6 to be in the running for a $15.00 voucher to the RRD stamp store.  (See sidebar for the link to more samples and challenge details.)

My autumn colors include:
Background paper sprayed with Dylusions ink sprays (Squeezed Orange and Fresh Lime) and a shimmer mist--Perfect Pearls Sunflower Sparkle, then stamped with my boo-tiful witchy woman image from the RRD half plate, Nature Notes. I had to square up the actual image and then edged with a black sharpie to redefine the frame.
Blackbird paper from Memorybox which is the base on top of a black card as well as the larger mat.  Smaller mat is a scrap.

Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacy Squares used to make two paper mats.

Wood witch hat from Red Lead Paperworks is painted with black chalkboard paint (when I had the paint out for some other projects).  I did not chalk up the hat as I think this sophisticated witchy woman would keep her hat in pristine condition, tied up in a bow with Doodle Twine (Halloween assortment).

Have a great autumn weekend!  Helene aka 2amscrapper

trisha too: RRD Backgrounds on EVERYTHING!

Seriously, I use my Rogue background stamps on everything. Nothing seems complete without them.
Right now, my favorites ("right now" because "favorites" changes with the wind) are the Handwritten
Music and Handwriting Background, which are available as singles.

Some recent Rogue-ish makes, using my current faves:
pose-me paper dolls--Handwritten Music

Halloween atc--that background would not be complete without the Handwriting Background!

Uh oh, wait a minute--these book pages for a swap, they have the Handwriting,

Told you my favorites change . . .

Vicki: Be mine...

Vicki here sharing my "be mine" card.
"be mine"

I used stamps from two different Rogue Redhead Design stamp plates...the Behind the Scenes background collection and the newest plate, This N' That.
The card base is comprised of three different colors of cardstock with patterned paper from Prima as the background. I stamped the music note background stamp on light cardstock and cut it and the matted black cardstock with Spellbinder die-cuts.  To give it dimension, I added Tombow Padded Tabs to the back of the diamond shape.  The sentiment, "be mine" is stamped on a matching tag, inked on the edges and adhered to the diamond shaped center.  The roses are from EK Success.  I inked them with Ranger - Wild Honey Distress Stain ink and popped them up for dimension also.
 Thanks for looking!

Krisha with a YOLO Resist Card

Hello and welcome to my Friday DT post for
Rogue Redhead Designs.  This week I decided to do a little resisting with one of the stamps from the Behind the Scenes RRD 012 stamps.  I chose white embossing powder then used Red Barn and Walnut Distressing inks to wipe over the top, then trimmed and added to the card base. I stamped the sentiment YOLO, from the This N That RRD013 plated, the happy birthday is from the Nature Notes RRD011 plate.  Both were stamped with Timer Distressed ink, trimmed and added to the resist background.

Today I'm sharing with you a very pink altered canvas :-) I've used the Lovers from Carnival Dreams. I've used Dylusion Sprays and gold Smooch to create the background as well as Gold UTEE.

I then added the Lovers and all the pretty flowers, and some bits and bobs.

I hope that your week has been as Pink as mine.

Barbara Washington:You Only Live Once --Y-O-L-O

I decided to make today's card in the CAS style. It was created with the current Rebel Challenge in mind. I used all autumn colors, even though the card isn't your usual autumn card. I went to the This N That stamp set for the image and sentiment. I first stamped the little birds. Then I masked them so I could add the background stamp. I then added the YOLO sentiment. The border was added by hand using my distress markers. Can't wait to see your challenge art! You have until October 6th to enter.

Vicki Robertson: This n' That in color!

Tie dye... it's an age old fad from the 60's that has come around again.  Everywhere you look, you see tie-dyed items...clothing, bookbags, purses, jewelry and even shoes!

I created this card using a similar technique along with my Rogue Redhead Designs This N' That Stamp Plate sentiment, "lay claim to your fate".

I used markers, ink refresher and an embossing folder to come up with the background circle design.  The circles and zig zag circles for matting were cut with Spellbinder dies. The sentiment, "lay claim to your fate" is from the Rogue Redhead Designs This n' That Stamp Plate.  I wanted the sentiment to be multi colored too, so I used 3 different Ranger Distress when stamping it.  I added a few jewels and ink along the edges to pick up the colors in the card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Krisha's Trinket Box

Happy Friday! and welcome to the Rogue Redhead blog!  Today, I want  to share a little wooden trinket box with you.  This is the front view, lost of paint, ink, modeling past and 3-D elements.  I used the script stamp from the Behind the Scenes: RRD012  in the background.

Here is the top of the box.  The sentiment is from the RRD's Nature Notes RRD011 set.

Sharon Briss: Sometimes You Just Have to YOLO It!

Happy Labor Day all!

I love to make gal pal cards.  You know the ones...those just because messages or those "I totally get it" notes.  Today, I made one for a friend who is trying out something absolutely fun and completely new to her.  I thought the YOLO sentiment (You Only Live Once) from This N That would be the perfect phrase for her situation!

I created the backrgound for the image by dragging some glossy paper through misted distress inks and then using my fabulous Adirondack alcohol inks to pounce a partial polished marble design around the edges.  I then flicked some blending solution over the whole thing to give it a bit more interest in the marbling and a bit more variation in the distress ink.

After letting the whole thing dry, I stamped YOLO in the open bit of the panel with Jet Black StazOn ink.  I cut the phrase out with my oval cutter and matted it with black.

For the base of the card, I went really simple.  I picked a red from the pattern and used that as my card base.  I matted a white panel in black and added some fabric tape across the bottom for more color and texture.  Lovin' the fabric tape by the way.  It's been sitting in my drawer for way too long.  Time to hunt up the teal roll I have of the same stuff!

Stamp: YOLO from This N That

All put together, it makes a nice simple card with lots of color and pop!

To see the other similar card I made using the same idea, come on over to my blog, Ill Tempered Ink!

Hope your Labor Day is filled with nothing but leisure!
