Holly Brown: Banner Day

The TLC challenge (#366) over on Splitcoaststampers this week is to have handmade banners on your card or project. You can't use die cuts nor chipboard banners; they must be stamped and/or hand-cut. My mom is hosting this challenge, and she asked me to help out by making a sample.

I pulled out my Just Sayin' set from Rogue Redhead Designs because I knew there was a banner stamp in the set. I stamped it five times on patterned paper and cut them out. They are embellished with some punched flowers and rhinestones and hung from pink baker's twine.

I decided to go fun and funky and clean and simple with this card. I made some rolling hills and stamped the sentiment on one of the hills, and then I added a paper pieced kitty. That pink kitty just cracks me up!

Why not try your hand at making a banner? They are fun! You can go fun and funky like I did, or you can go elegant and dreamy like my mom did. Enjoy!!

Krisha Shows Us Milliner Misses in Maize

Krisha was caught using her Milliner Misses set! We love that she has created her beautiful cards in these soft shades of yellow.

Her first card shows off a stylish trio along with one of the sentiments from Milliner Misses! She has added soft shades of yellow to the image and added lacy embellishments. Isn't the soft white border pretty?

In her second card, Krisha has used all the lovely Misses, using soft yellows and white for her color palette.

I love the little cat in the Just Sayin' set ... for this card I stamped him in charcoal, cut him out, colored him with a sketch pencil, and attached him using tiny pieces of foam tape for dimension.

Remember, you have until March 4th to join the Rebel Challenge to stamp your own background paper. I used the three square block from Just Sayin' on gridded designer paper (all papers are Authentique's Journey Collection) to create my modern background design.

Sharon Briss: Playing with Paper

The Rogue Crew is playing along with Gingersnap Creations this month. They just posted a color challenge to "Use Two Colors Only". I chose Coffee and Cream for mine with a little cafe au lait thrown in.

Once, I had the first card, I couldn't resist making some more. I used vanilla and chocolate cardstock and one double-sided paper and one script paper. The layouts use similar elements but are not the exactly the same. I made two rectangular cards (5.5" x 4.25"), one large square card (5.5" x 5.5") and one mini card (3.25" x 3.25").

I used the characters from Just Sayin' and some of the sentiments from Bits and Pieces. I colored the figures with copic markers using only colors in the brown family.

I really like how they came out! What do you think?

Stamped Background: Laura Liddell

The current challenge at Rogue Redheads is to use a background stamp. I have used the background stamp from Beach Babes and paired it up with an image from Just Sayin'. This was then coloured with watercolours and mounted onto some backing papers and a grungy edge added. The challenge is on going until March 4th. So why not join in?

Holly Brown: Stroll upon the Beach

Good morning! It's Holly posting today. I wanted to try one of the newest techniques from Technique Junkies called Faux Painted Paneling, so I pulled out the Beach Babes stamps from Rogue Redhead Designs.

I started by stamping the large sand background all over the blue card base, then I added the Faux Painted Paneling to the bottom of the card. The sweet little beach babes were stamped with blue ink and I sponged the same color all around the edges. I used a distress tool to rough up the edges of the stamped piece as well as the kraft layer behind it. The sentiment was adhered directly on the Faux Painted Paneling.

I tried to add ribbon, twine, buttons, something to the card, but nothing seemed to work. This card was destined to be Clean And Simple (CAS). This really lets the stamped image take center stage with the Faux Painted Paneling adding a little interest to the piece.

We're Relishing Kathie McGuire's Rogue Art!

Kathie McGuire has created two beautiful cards from the Relish Reading plate. She has created a lot of depth in her art, not only in her layers but also with her coloring.

In this card, you can see Kathie's wonderful coloring of Marie. Behind the circle Marie sits in, Kathie has added a colorful panel stamped with the Almanac background. Her details are gorgeous from the bow to her fabulous use of a border punch!

In her second card, Kathie has once again combined stunning papers and embellishments with a beautifully presented focal image. Once again using the Almanac Background, Kathie has set a wonderfully colored Sally in the middle of a stunning panel encircled with a lacy border.

A Great Good Tuesday Morning! I've got a CAS card for you this morning. When this stamp set was released and I say this boy and this sentiment I immediately thought of my oldest son. He's just one of these people that a grey cloud follows around.
I've used the Torn Edge Technique to get the effect at the bottom of the card. It's actually supposed to look like a piece of designer paper with out the bulk of another piece of paper, but this looked so much like an ocean of water puddles and he looks so determined, I couldn't resist making our guy walk on water. I created the word bubble in Open Office then stamped the sentiment and inked the edges.
I just love the quirkyness of this new Just Sayin' stamp set.

Penny Bennington: More Rogue Flowers

I wanted to see what else I could do with the flower stamp from Just Sayin' and stamped it onto various vintage book pages and cut them out. I layered a smaller, slightly crumpled one with a larger one and left other small ones plain. I also cut out the individual petals of a couple flowers, used bundled sage Distress Stain on them and voila - leaves! I adhered them all to a 7Gypsies book cover with a stamped background panel in the center. The background panel collage is made up of the flourish from Relish Reading and words and quotes from Floriculture all on paper rubbed with distress ink and flicked with water.

Sharon Briss: Anchored by a Stamped Background

I have been busy making cards with all those stamped backgrounds I created. One of them seemed to be calling out to me to create a card with the sea in mind. To start, I picked this great anchor from Beach Babes and used a sentiment for the same set.

I paired it with this background which includes 3 background stamps - Crazy Dots from Snow Hugs, Netted from Just Sayin' and Sandy Beach from Beach Babes.

I really like how it came together!

The Rebel Challenge this month is stamped backgrounds. I love the large background stamp in the RELISH READING set. For some reason I really like print and script background stamps. I use then frequently as "vintage" grunge.

Having just finished my Valentine's Day collage tags, I decided to do my stamped background on a tag. I recently purchased some kraft tags, so I stamped my print background with Archival Coffee. And added some swirls in Archival Crimson. The label at the bottom came from some designer paper. The sentiment and roses are part of the FLORICULTURE set.

Barbara Washington: Masquerade

The current Rebel Challenge is to use a stamped background. I thought I'd share a card where the background was made using one of the stamps from Carnival Dreams. I did use a stamp positioner to keep my rows straight. After stamping, I sprayed the background with several colors of Glimmer Mist. To finish off the look, I used a gold Viva Decor Pearl Pen to add the little pearl beads. I think the background looks a bit like the bead curtains so popular years ago. I stamped my focal image, the cute smaller couple from Carnival Dreams and die cut it using a Spellbinders die. The image is backed by a second Spellbinders die.

I want to share a second card today. Here I used the larger couple on Carnival Dreams as the focal image. I used a doily frame die cut from Cheery Lynn to frame the image. The background was done using the marbled smooch technique from the Oct/Nov 2010 Technique Junkies newsletter.
I love working with this set of stamps. They are so festive and happy.

I combined the flower from Just Sayin' in gold; the sandy background from Beach Babes in medium blue; and the block design from Floriculture in royal blue to create my stamped background using colors from this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge.

The main panel image and sentiment are from Relish Reading. I finished with some tiny gem-embellished butterflies using CPS Sketch #5 for their Anniversary Celebration.

Jennifer Ingle: Happy, Happy Birthday!

Well, I am excited to be sharing another card using the brand new Just Sayin' set with all of you! And...because today just so happens to be my birthday, I decided to forgo the Happy UNbirthday stamp in that one and, instead, combined it with the fabulous Bits and Pieces plate where I found a wonderful Happy Birthday sentiment option! I love combining my stamp sets!

I stamped the wonderful border repeatedly to achieve this graphic design. The circles are punched from orange cardstock.

I just love the graphic design that came from that wonderful border and a few simple circles! I hope you enjoy it, too! Have a Happy MY BIRTHDAY!!!! YAY! LOL!

This month, we've got another idea to get your creative juices flowing! In Rebel Challenge #8, we're asking you to

Use a Stamped Background

1) You can use any products to participate in this challenge. You do not have to use Rogue Redhead Designs products but it would be fabulous if you did!

2) Your submission must include some stamping.

3) Please read the directions for the challenge. We like to add a twist here and there. Your submission must include a stamped background panel.

4) Links that are not to a single post (ie only to a general blog post) will not be accepted.

5) All submission posts need to include a link back to this challenge to be eligible for the challenge prize.

One challenge winner will be drawn randomly from the qualified submissions for a $15.00 US voucher at the Rogue Redhead Designs Store.

This challenge will end on March 4, 2012. The winner will be announced on March 7, 2012 and will have until April 7, 2012 to claim their prize.

Here's some easy ideas to get you started!

You can use your stamped backgrounds to make bold backgrounds for Artist Trading Cards and then stamp coordinating images and sentiments. I used the Sandy Beach background from Beach Babes, the Crazy Dot background from Snow Hugs and the Netted background from Just Sayin' to create this particular effect. I then used images and sentiments from the Just Sayin' plate to finish off.

You could make a wonderfully nautical card like the one below. Holly has layered the Sandy Beach Background from Beach Babes with the Netted Background from Just Sayin' for her stamped background. The sailboat and the sentiment are also from the Beach Babes plate. Don't you love the depth that was achieved with this ink-layered background.

You could also used your stamped background as a fun way to highlight a simple image like the one below. This cheery background was created using the Almanac background from Relish Reading over the Crazy Dot background from Snow Hugs and finished off with the mini Swirl background from Candy Kisses. The main image and sentiment is from Carnival Hugs.

Floriculture Tag and Pan Pastels: Laura Liddell

This is one of the items I made for the Masking Tape challenge currently running over on Gingersnaps, but I decided to post a different one. This is now being shown here.

The two stamps used are from the Floriculture plate.

First I adhered Tim Holtz tape onto the tag and then swiped the tag with gesso. Once dried I added some pan pastels which coloured differently where the gesso was underneath. I then decided to take some of the masking tape off as you can see. I inked the stamp with versamark embossing pad and stamped. Then added a darker shade of pan pastel over the stamped image. Then the same stamp was re inked with Black Archival and over stamped. "Le Jardin" was stamped onto masking tape and adhered to the tag. The edges were darkened and ribbon attached.

Holly Brown: Stylish Misses and Faux Silk Fleur

Good morning! It's Holly posting today, and I have some Rogue eye candy to share with you. My favorite Rogue Redhead Designs set is the Milliner Misses set and here's a card I created with the three stylish misses stamp:

I absolutely love the way this card looks, from the old-fashioned paper in the background to the distressed edges, with the lace and flowers for embellishments. I used the Torn Frames technique from Technique Junkies on the dark brown layer behind the stamped ladies. The ladies were colored with Copic markers and then I sponged some Antique Linen distress ink on the edges before distressing them. Ahhhhhhhhhhh that card just makes me happy. :-)

The next card I'm sharing is the one I created for a challenge over on the Gingersnaps Creations blog. Rogue Redhead Designs is sponsoring their challenges this month, and this card was for their Words of Wisdom challenge. I used the Faux Silk technique in the background with the Floriculture stamp set and kept the card light for that spring-time feel.

Beverly G: Mardi Gras

A Great Good Tuesday Morning! It's just about time to break out your party beads, masks, and crowns. Mardi Gras will be starting soon and just in time for the big party is the newly released stamp set Carnival Dreams.
Glossy Card stock, and Alcohol Inks are the beginnings of this card. I used Raisin, Bottle, and Gold alcohol ink. Even though I used the same colors the 2 backgrounds I created look very different. The one I stamped the couple on is more ethereal like. I went around the edge of the first background with a gold Sharpie Paint pen and attached it to the card front. I stamped the couple, cut them out with an oval coluzzle shape cutter and went around the edge with a purple metallic marker. I attached the gold braid to the back of the oval with Scor-Tape and then attached to the card front with dimensionals. I created the Mardi Gras label stack with a McGil Vintage Label punch, and 2 Stampin' Up punches using some metallic paper I had in my stash. I colored the moon with a Clear Star gel pen, her heart necklace with a purple Spica Glitter pen, and added the tiny gold flat beads for just the right finishing touch.
I'm thinking this might make a good party invitation.

Penny Bennington: Crayon Flowers

I made these flowers while playing around with the flower stamp from Just Sayin'. They are simply crayon shavings melted between two pieces of glassine (waxed paper would work too). I thought they made cute little embellishments to use.

I adhered them to this page in my art journal that has a base of torn textured papers and added a short poem by Edna St.Vincent Millay.

Sharon Briss: Layering Background Stamps

Like making your own backgrounds? Rogue Redhead makes it easy!

You can combine our background stamps for a variety of looks. I've put some together so you can see some of the possibilities. For these samples, I've used the Almanac Background from Relish Reading, the Crazy Dot Background from Snow Hugs, the Sandy Beach Background from Beach Babes, the Swirls mini background from Candy Kisses and the Netted Background from Just Sayin'.

For this one, I used shades of brown-hued distress inks on a vanilla cardstock. The first layer is our Almanac Background in Antique Linen Distress Ink. Stamped over using Old Paper Distress Ink this was the Crazy Dots Background. The last layer was done in Brushed Cordoroy with the Netted Background.

As a slight variation, start with the Crazy Dot Background in a light blue like Tumbled Glass Distress Ink on white cardstock. Stamp the Netted Background with Stormy Sky Distress Ink. Finish off with the Sandy Beach Background with Brushed Cordoroy Background. I thought it gave a sort of nautical look.

This same pattern can look different just by changing the colors and order of stamping. This background uses a soft Mulled Lavender Distress Ink for the first layer with the Sandy Beach Background. Overstamped onto this layer is the Crazy Dot Background in a Dusty Concord Distress Ink. For the last layer, I used Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink with the Netted Background.

For a lighter brighter background, I went all pink. The first layer is the Crazy Dots in soft pink dye ink. The next layer is made up of the Swirls mini background in medium pink dye ink. Finally, I overlayed the Almanac Background in deep pink dye ink.

For a nice background suitable for botanical subjects, I started with the Sandy Beach Background stamped with Bundled Sage Distress Ink. The next layer used the Almanac Background in Crushed Olive. I completed the look with the Netted Background in Tea Dye Distress Ink.

In this last one, I went for an aged vintage look. I started with the Sandy Beach Background again using Wild Honey distress ink. I then used the Almanac Background in Spiced Marmalade. Instead of using a third background, I inked up my Sandy Beach Background with Tea Dye Distress Ink and turned it 180 degrees before I stamped it onto the paper. By doing this second layer of Sandy Beach, I created an aged look.

So what am I going to do with all these lovely layered ink backgrounds? I'll show you next Saturday!

Jean Franks Beck: Mardi Gras ATC Triptych

February is packed full of fun for such a short month! Punxsutawney Phil on Groundhog's Day (a silly and fun little US custom to forecast the end - or continuation - of winter), Valentine's Day, and the raucous Mardi Gras celebrated to the extreme in New Orleans. I had lots of fun coming up with this little Mardi Gras triptych. I used Prismacolor pencils and Distress Inks to color in a variety of images from the Carnival Dreams plate (and one image from Just Sayin' - the background on the right). I just kept on layering the colors until I got a sort of washed vintage-but-artsy feel that I was after. I limited my color palette to the colors of Mardi Gras - purple, gold, and green, using Seedless Preserves, Concord Grape, Peeled Paint, and Shabby Shutters DI's. A bit of fiber and some dresden gold trim were the only embellishments. Here's a closer look:

Barbara Washington: Mardi Gras Month

I am so exited and happy to be guest designing with the new Rogue Redhead Designs stamp set, Carnival Dreams. Mardi Gras is time of revelry and these new stamps represent fun in such a great way.

I just love this couple. They look like they are really enjoying themselves. They are colored with Copics. For the background, I used a piece of Shimmer Sheetz which was dry embossed and then highlighted with black Stazon. The heart balloons are such a sweet addition.

I couldn't stop with just one card. Here I used another image and sentiment from Carnival Dreams. This couple, dressed in their costumes, are so enjoying the moment. The are colored with Copics and framed with and elegant frame. I turned the frame and stamped the image in a diamond shape to coordinate with the background. The harlequin diamond background is from the Tim Holtz paper stash, Vintage Shabby. I overstamped with the heart balloon, the crown, and the star from the stamp set. A touch of gold stickles highlights the frame edges.

I can't wait to play some more with these stamps.

A Great Good Tuesday Morning Everyone and what an appropriate title today because if you haven't heard we just had two new stamp sets released.
I've used 3 stamps from the Just Sayin' stamp plate. I just love the quirky vintage charm of this plate and just like all our other stamp sets these two new ones are just as versatile.

Penny Bennington: Acrylic Block Collages

I have some fun collages to share - these are all done on acrylic blocks that are usually used for stamping with your unmounted and clear stamps. I found some that were 3in. square for $1 at a local big box store. I adhered my paper collages using images from French Kissed Postcards, Red Lead, and Paper Whimsy to the back of each block using Xyron adhesive and then stamped the cosmos bud and fern fronds from Floriculture with StazOn on the front of the block. The additional border stamp is from Hampton Arts.

Another really cool thing about these collages is that if you happen to flip to page 60 in the February/March issue of the Stampers' Sampler you'll see them in print! Woo Hoo!!!!

Jennifer Ingle: Just Sayin'

Hi! I'm Jingle and I am SUPER excited to be guest designing with this fabulous January release for Rogue Redhead Designs! When Shar ever told me the name of this set...well, let's just say it was a match made in heaven! You see, I may or may not be rather known for using that particular phrase. Excessively. Just Say'n. Here is the first card I created with this super fun set!

I'll be honest with you. I'm NOT a cat person. Actually, I'm horrifically allergic to them. It's bad. REALLY bad. Just say'n. HOWEVER...there is just something about a fabulous cat stamp that gets me every time! This one is SO CUTE!

I stamped him on white bristol and cut him out so I could pop him up over the fibers (May Arts). I stamped the background with the wonderful flower stamp. I love that!

And then, well, of course that sentiment just HAD to pop, so I stamped and cut that out, as well! I hope you have enjoyed my fun little card and I can't WAIT to share more with you soon!

Simple Set Saturday: Simply Aged

Today, we are going to make some really simple vintage cards with the new RRD Just Sayin' plate.

We'll start off making a card with the Old Gent from the Just Sayin' plate.

First, gather all your supplies.

white cardstock, 1 piece 8.5" x 5.5" for the card base and one piece cut 4.0" x 5.25" for the front panel
Ranger Distress Inks in the following hues: Antique Linen, Old Paper, Wild Honey Tea Dye, and Brushed Cordoroy
post-it notes or scrap paper and repositionable adhesive for masking
water brush for detailing
cotton balls, sponges or daubers for applying ink
Memento or StazOn ink for main image

To start stamp your focal image in the center of your front panel with Memento or StazOn ink. Stamp the image again on a post-it and cut out a mask for the image. Apply the mask to the panel.

Now, using a cotton ball or sponge, pick up your lightest color of ink - Antique Linen - and sponge on some distress ink around the image. For the best results, after inking the cotton ball, apply the ink from the mask outward onto the card.

Move to your next darkest color of ink, Old Paper, and apply this ink around the edges of where you left off with the Antique Linen. Once, this is complete, apply some Tea Dye where the Old Paper layer finished. You should be creating an ever darkening halo around your image.

Finish off your aging process, by applying Brushed Corduroy around the edges of the front panel. Be sure not to be too even in your application to preserve the aged look.

RRD always prides itself on including great details on our stamps. Some of those details would be hard to cut in a mask. To get to those places that you could not cut out, pick up the lightest color ink - Antique Linen - on a water brush and slowly apply to the open areas. In the case of Old Gent, these areas are the space between his legs and the enclosed space in between his arm and body. You can also use the inked water brush to fill in any white spots around where the mask may not have been cut close enough.

That's it! Add a sentiment if you like and adhere the panel to your crisp white card and you are all done! Once you start making these fun cards, it will be hard to stop!

Frosty is the theme for this month's Rebel Challenge ... to use Vellum in your design. I embossed vellum for my background panels and stamped my sentiment on vellum too (clear embossing keeps it from smearing).

All stamps are from Rogue Redhead Designs Snow Hugs set. The Sketch is this week's Sketchbook Saturday Challenge. Papers are Basic Grey's Kissing booth with a little colored pencil highlighting and the addition of a punched silvery moon.

Snow Hugs Valentine: Laura Liddell

I wanted to show how the Snow Hugs plate was also very suitable for Valentines Day and need not be put away once Christmas is over.

I have made a heart insert in the card and covered the card in gold printed vellum. This ties in with the current Rogue Challenge, to use vellum. Cut out the vellum over the heart window to reveal more clearly the lovely image from Snow Hugs plate. I have paper pieced the red hearts so they would feature more. I have also used the Hugs and kisses stamp from the same plate and finally embellished with some ribbon and a jeweled heart.

A Great Good Tuesday Morning Everyone--
I'm following Penny's post with another girl from the Milliner Misses stamp set and I've pulled some patterned vellum from my stash because as you know by now our new challenge this month is #7: Frosty-use Vellum.
The little dragonfly on our girls hat inspired me to pull these colors. I always think of blue greens and purples when I think of dragonflies and in my stash I just happened to have some tiny dragonflies. They are actually silver, but I dabbed this one with my gold Sharpie Paint Pen. I stamped the girl in Soft Suede on the front of the vellum, colored with Spica Glitter Pens in purple and teal on the back to maintain the softness, cut out the circle and very carefully went around the edge of the vellum with the Spica Gold Glitter Pen. I sponged a couple of scraps of resist paper with Bermuda Bay ink and border punched, tied the bow, attached the vellum circle to the pattern paper mat with a glue dot behind the dragonfly, attached the scallop and bow mat, and there you have it.
With Shar's, Penny's, and my examples of some of the uses of vellum I'm hoping this will inspire you to come and join in on our 7th Challenge this month. Get creative, I bet you can out do us.

Penny Bennington: Fashionable Vellum

A new Rebel Challenge has been issued for this month, and I wanted to experiment a bit with my piece of vellum. First I stamped the trio from Milliner Misses onto vellum and then colored it from the back side using colored pencils. I'm just not good at coloring and doing it this way hides my mistakes! Once I had my image colored, I ran my piece of vellum though my Cuttlebug using a frame embossing folder. Embossed vellum always gives a cool white effect and I added more white (also on the back with a colored pencil) to make it even more obvious.

So what did I do with my piece then?

I created this collage for it using 7Gypsies tissue paper with French place names and a page from an old French dictionary.

I completely avoided the difficulties of adhering vellum; by creating decorative corner punches in my image mat, I could just slip the piece of vellum under each corner punch. Hope to see your project using vellum!

Rebel Challenge #7: Frosty - Use Vellum

Thanks to everyone who played our last Rebel Challenge! It was great to see all the great ways you came up with to use grids!

This month, we've got another fun assignment for you! This time we are asking you to go

Frosty

1) You can use any products to participate in this challenge. You do not have to use Rogue Redhead Designs products but it would be fabulous if you did!

2) Your submission must include some stamping.

3) Please read the directions for the challenge. We like to add a twist here and there. Your submission must include vellum in some way.

4) Links that are not to a single post (ie only to a general blog post) will not be accepted.

5) All submission posts need to include a link back to this challenge to be eligible for the challenge prize.

One challenge winner will be drawn randomly from the qualified submissions for a $15.00 US voucher at the Rogue Redhead Designs Store.

This challenge will end on February 5, 2012. The winner will be announced on February 8, 2012 and will have until March 8, 2012 to claim their prize.

Here's some easy ideas to get you started!

You can create a frosted panel like the one below. This card is all about layers. The colored image was covered by a layer of plain vellum, stamped with a sentiment. The layer of vellum was then framed by a piece of patterned paper.

You could also try a vellum overlay like this simple card.

This card has a simple window, lined with vellum which has been stamped with a sentiment.

Through the frosted window you can see a hint of the bright flowers inside. Once the card is opened, all the vibrant color shines through.

Stamps: Gaillardia from Floriculture plate and sentiment from Relish Reading plate (Rogue Redhead Designs)

You can also use vellum for some interesting spotlighting and layering options.

To create a reverse spotlight, I punched out portions of the vellum to reveal the full colored image.

To give a feel of water, I layered the vellum at the bottom of the oval after lightly sponging it with Distress Ink.

With Valentine's Day approaching, I couldn't resist creating a feminine little card in the Victorian scrap style. I used lots of images from the Floriculture plate, along with a sentiment from Snow Hugs. The florals are colored with Copics. The background is some patterned paper that I ran through a postmark embossing folder. A little heart paper doily frames it up.

Milliner Out of Print Thanks ~ Stephanie Severin

This little (4" square) thank you card is made using my favorite stamp from Milliner Misses together with Basic Grey's Out of Print papers. I added a tiny adhesive gem to her hat & used a glitter pen to add some pink sparkle to her lips, earrings & hat.

I thought the background stamp from Candy Kisses worked well with the circle design of the of the Basic Grey paper. I stamped off once on scrap paper before stamping on the card for a more muted design. The layout is this week's Sweet Stop Sketch.

Simple Set Saturday: Keyed Up

Is your house like mine? Lots of sets of very similar looking keys lying around? I am forever picking up the wrong set and scrambling to get the proper one.

While I was in Christmas Tree Shop of all places, I saw these cute little Acrylic Photo Frame key chains and an idea popped into my mind - color-coded keys!

I started by measuring the frame and creating 3 separate rectangles of white cardstock. I then stamped my images onto the rectangles with StazOn ink.

I stamped each image again onto a post-it note to create a mask. I placed the mask over the image and sponged two colors of distress ink onto each rectangle using the lightest ink all over and the darker shade around the edges. Once I had finished sponging, I inked up a background stamp with the darker shade of distress ink and overstamped it onto the masked image.

Removing all the masks, I ran all 3 finished rectangles through my Xyron and attached each one to a scrap of designer paper for the backing. Voila! Color-coded key chains for everyone in the family.

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone and Happy New Year!
Today I've got an altered canvas for you. One of my goals this year is to use some of the products in my stash that I just had to have, but haven't taken the time to use. Sorry about being long winded on this one, but it will be worth it in the end.
I'm going to be pursuing a series of projects with the Theme: Friendship.
The lovely Ladies and the sentiment from the Milliner Misses set was a perfect choice for one of these projects. I had just gotten through with a previous project and was mulling this one over when a little light bulb went off.
I painted a small canvas 3 3/4" X 4 3/4" with some Claudine Helmuth paint, tore a piece of background paper, distressed the edges and stamped the sentiment. I stamped the Ladies with Sepia ink, used the leftover paint and dry brushed some highlights on their hats to pick up the colors of the canvas then used dimensionals to pop them up. I had my leftover wax still warming and with the brush that is dedicated just to wax projects I painted the wax around the edges and around the edges of the popped up image. I let it run and puddle. Then with some micro beads close by I dabbed the wax on again and poured the beads on, lightly mashed them in and dabbed some more wax over the top. For the finishing touch I brushed Blue Patina Perfect Pearls around the edges. This is only my second time to use melted wax, but boy oh boy, have I had some fun today.

Sharon Briss: Minor Modifications

Happy New Year Everyone! It's going to be a great year to Go Rogue!

Today, I've got 3 cards for you that just vary in color and position of elements. It always amazes me how different the same image can look even with the same basic idea behind the design.

This loving couple from Snow Hugs make a wonderful wintery "any day" card. To make these, I started with a standard card base, a simple matted oval shape for the main image and a rectangle of different but coordinating paper matted with the same color as the oval. Easy, right? It sure was! What made it even better was that I able to use a bunch of scraps of designer paper for each card.

For the first one, I went almost monochromatic with simple grays for the couple's outfits with a lovely pop of red. The background paper is completely gray except for those tiny pine cones.

For the next card, I readjusted how my oval was positioned for a slightly different look. This time, I went bright and bold with my coloring and my coordinating papers.

For the final one, I picked a paper that also had some lovely red in it and once again changed the position of the oval to allow the flowers on the rectangular panel to seem to cuddle the oval. I used several soft golden colors for a warm feel.

Hope you have fun playing with variations! I always find it fun to play with color and design!

Zoechaos Caught Being Creative with RRD!

Yes, the notorious Zoechaos has been caught redhead-handed creating beautiful art with her RRD stamps!

She has created a lovely scene with her Relish Reading stamps! Taking the outdoors indoors, she has masterfully exchanged our seated reader's tree for some elegant drapes but still given her a fabulous view outside! You can tell the young lady is transported away by her novel as we are with the card itself!

From the wonderful paper piecing and coloring down to the fabulous pullbacks for the drapes, this whole card is one gorgeous creation!

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone! Hope you're surviving the Holidays and if you exchange presents, you got everything you wished for.
I know, I know, some of you may have snow. My card for you today is built on our current challenge-Get Griddy--you still have time to enter, it doesn't close until Jan 8th.
With all our busy schedules I hope my card will inspire you to slow down and smell the flowers along the way, even if they are imaginary ones. Let your families eat some leftovers while you're in your studio creating a wonderful project.
For my card I've used the background stamp from the Beach Babes set, which is so versatile, the main image and the sentiment are from the Floriculture set. I've colored the flowers with PrismaColor pencils and blended with Sansodor Low Odor Solvent and I do love sponging around the edges for just that bit of softening and finishing I like to get.

Penny Bennington: A Very Rogue Christmas

I don't know about you, but I'm still inspired by Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas and couldn't resist one more kind of Rogue-ified. I started with a wrinkle free distress background using Antique Linen, Bundled Sage and Fired Brick distress stains and then created fragment charm Christmas ornaments by first using alcohol inks (Cranberry and Bottle) and then stamped ladies from the trio of Milliner Misses using archival ink and then blotted and buffed it off creating a resist effect. I wired them to the tag using the swirl from Relish Reading as their anchor. To finish off my tag I added a sentiment from Stampers Anonymous and die cut greenery and pearls.

I just can't put down my Beautifully Dunn stamps this holiday season. I just love their free flowing style!

This card is a very simple Clean and Simple format. I paper pieced the intertwined hearts from Snow Hugs with the two coordinating papers. The sentiment is from Candy Kisses.

This month's Rebel Challenge is to Get Griddy. I loved the grid of faces on Shar's card, so I used a similar design for mine.

I stamped the sweet little couple from Candy Kisses four times with India ink, and then punched them out using a square punch (I flipped the punch over & positioned the snowflakes at the top and side on the edges to make them all close to the same).

I colored with Prismacolor pencils using colors from the Play Date Cafe. The layout is a Sweet Sunday Sketch. I finished with a sentiment Stickerz from EAD Designs.

Marvelous Mail

Today, I wanted to share with you some of the awesome paperart I have received in the mail in the last couple of weeks. Each one made me smile and I was awed by the amazing craftwork!

The first item I'll show you is this fabulous tag which I received from Lynn Stevens, a friend who is dear to my heart. Her amazing joie de vivre, fabulous friendship and uncompromising talent make knowing her not only an honor but a delight! Check out this tag - it is beyond gorgeous! I may be prejudiced because it features Dot from Milliner Misses! This little beauty is currently on my tree along with a sweet house ornament Lynn made me. Thanks so much, Lynn!

The next card is from a new friend, Stamping Sue. I loved that she was sweet enough to send a card with her RRD order! I love the warm feeling of this card. She cleverly created a textured background of inked swirls which echoed the steam coming off this steaming cup of tea! Her paper piecing is phenomenal and I really loved the papers she chose! Thanks tons, Sue!

I've known Vada for awhile now through Gingersnap Creations and I am always awed by her fabulous art and her wonderful designs. This delicate and stylish card came to me with her latest RRD order. So pretty! The pale peach with the delightful silver is just so classy. The center embellishment in its papercut niche brings it all together. Vada also added some fab details such as added layered white flowers and words hightlighted in coordinating peach in the background. Big thank you for this card, Vada!

The final card was a fabulous Christmas greeting that winged its way to me from Holly Brown! You may recognize this card from the most recent Technique Junkies newsletter where it appeared as a sample of the Faux Designer Brads technique. She used the toque from the Snow Hugs plate and added some fun pom pom faux designer brads. I love her colors - so fresh and fun and perfect for this cold time of year! I keep running into Holly all over the stamposphere and we have a ton of fun together. I love the way she composes her fabulous card creations - each one a total treasure. Thank you Holly for letting me not only see this card in real life, but add it to my Christmas decorations! You'll be seeing more of Holly around here soon!

The words are from Snow Hugs but I have used the word individually to make up the title.

The words are stamped onto a background that comes from the Essential Stamp plate.

Instead of snowflakes there is love falling all around.

Nice concept, I thought.

My card for this week's SCS Inspiration Challenge was inspired by this Flowering Tealight Holder in traditional Vietnamese blue & white from Ten Thousand Villages.

I used images from RRD's Floriculture Plate to create a similar monochromatic design.

This month, we've got another fun assignment for you! This time we are asking you to

Get Griddy

Grid cards are a fabulous way to show off montage of great images, papers or textures. We're going to leave it up to you! Go for a 2x2, 3x3 or 3x4 grid card or hanging! Just make sure your grid includes at least 3 squares. Of course, this being a Rebel Challenge, if you can think up an amazing way to use a grid on something other than a card or hanging - GO FOR IT!

1) You can use any products to participate in this challenge. You do not have to use Rogue Redhead Designs products but it would be fabulous if you did!

2) Your submission must include some stamping.

3) Please read the directions for the challenge. We like to add a twist here and there. Your submission must include a grid design. Your grid must include AT LEAST 3 squares.

4) Links that are not to a single post (ie only to a general blog post) will not be accepted.

5) All submission posts need to include a link back to this challenge to be eligible for the challenge prize.

One challenge winner will be drawn randomly from the qualified submissions for a $15.00 US voucher at the Rogue Redhead Designs Store.

This challenge will end on January 8, 2012. The winner will be announced on January 11, 2012 and will have until February 11, 2012 to claim their prize.

A Great Good Tuesday Morning!
Even though we're starting winter I've got a pretty spring card for you today. To acheive this light aqua color I used Pool Party ink from Stampin Up. I took a sponge and the vanilla taffeta ribbon and pulled it across the ink pad until I liked the hue. My card base is a Kraft card blank and the polka dot paper is unknown, with Pool Party backing scallops. I've been wanting to try out these beveled windowpanes for awhile and the flowers in the Floriculture stamp set worked perfect. I stamped the flowers and then glued the windowpanes down with Glossy Accents.

Simple Set Saturday: Squaring Off

Welcome to the December edition of Simple Set Saturday! Instead of making more holiday cards, I decided to make some cards I could give away instead.

Keeping it simple and keeping in line with our current (and about to close) Rebel Challenge, I have used only one designer paper to create these simple cards.

I stamped two 1.5" squares with my image and then cut two matching squares from the same paper as the base. I did precut my grid base but I retrimmed it after placing my squares.

I finished off by stamping my sentiments onto ovals and matting them (a little offset) with slightly larger ovals.

Penny Bennington: Good Friends Card

Here's a card I made using my favorite text stamp from Relish Reading both as a bold element in the background and as a subtle tone-on-tone version as the background of the circles. I stamped the trio of women from Milliner Misses and punched them out with a 1 1/2" circle punch to create the circles. The card also includes a scrap of Glimmer Misted watercolor paper sprayed over a flourish screen that has been in my box of scraps for a long time because I just couldn't throw it away and it was just the pop of color I needed to finish off the card.

I am so thrilled to have Rogue Redhead Designs joining us for our final Jingle Belles prompt of 2011 ... we've been making holiday cards all year long, so we could take back December one holiday card at a time ... and we'll be back doing it again in 2012.

This week's prompt ~ Candy Kisses ~ celebrates the many foods, drinks, and candies of Christmas (dark chocolate salted caramels anyone?). For my card I went straight for the cupcakes from the Candy Kisses plate.

I stamped the swirly sweet background multiple times for my base. The cupcakes were stamped in pink and then I used a blender pen and ink to color in the cherries before adding a coat of Glossy Accents.

The sketch is last week's Sweet Sunday Sketch.

Sharon Briss: Joining the Jingle Belles Challenge

This week, Rogue Redhead Designs is sponsoring the Jingle Belles Challenge! Every week, the lovely Jingles Belles, Stephanie and Lauren, provide inspiration for a new holiday card.

This week, the challenge is to create a card featuring your favorite holiday foods, drinks or candies!

Since the challenge is named Candy Kisses, I went straight to my RRD Candy Kisses plate! I love the cute cupcakes on this whimsical plate, especially the little cherries. Thinking about Christmas, I was also thinking about holly berries and thus an idea was born...a cupcake wreath!

I experimented on a scrap piece of paper to see exactly how many impressions of the cupcakes I would need to complete a circle. It worked nicely with 6. I used a circle cutter to cut around the edge and make the red mat. I folded a 12" x 6" piece of green cardstock in half and used the circle cutter letting it overlap the fold slightly when making the base.

Jean Franks Beck: Masculine Christmas Card

It's that time of year, and I've got a masculine Christmas card for you today, using the boy and text background from Relish Reading, along with a sentiment from Bits and Pieces. All of the patterned papers are from Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas 6x6 paper pad, and the background embossing is using a Tim Holtz Christmas Background and Borders Texture Fade. I colored the boy with Copics, and collaged together papers until I liked the feel of the whole thing. My uncle is an avid model train collector, so I had him in mind when I made this. I can imagine the boy in the train station, contemplating getting on the Polar Express! Using themed patterned papers is a great way to get extra mileage out of your stamps.... and go from "Relish Reading" to "Relish Christmas", LOL!

Deb Corder: One Piece of Designer Paper

The current Rebel Challenge is to use one piece of designer paper. What better way to highlight your beautiful Milliner Miss!!??!!

I was sorting thru some old 6x6 pads and came across Basic Grey's Wassail paper. I love the delicate holly leaves. I dressed up this Miss' hat with a sprig of holly too.

Here are the Copics I used. It's been a while since I colored with Copics and I've forgotten the vibrant colors! I added a little glitter on her collar and the gold hairy cord - and this Miss is already for Christmas.

We've caught Krisha redhead-handed using her Rogue Redhead stamps! She made a fabulous hanging for her friend, Lynn Stevens, and she included our logo lady, "Dot", from Milliner Misses!

Isn't it great! The sentiment in the corner is also from Milliner Misses and reads "Love Your Style". The beautiful lace makes the whole hanging beyond elegant!

My card is for the current Rogue Redhead Rebel Challenge *Dress Down* ... to create a card using only a single piece of designer paper. I chose an elegant black floral paper from Basic Grey's new Little Black Dress collection.The layout is a Fall to Layout from the Clean & Simple Stamping Blog.

I stamped the Ledger from Relish Reading in peach ink on peach cardstock for a tone-on-tone background for my lovely Milliner Misses. They were stamped in grey and the highlighted with peach colored pencil. The sentiment was attached with foam tape for a bit of dimension.

The Milliner Misses are perfect for National Girlfriends Day cards for The Moxie Fab World Blog.

Sharon Briss: Variations on Vintage

At the beginning of the month, I showed you how you could use the same sketch to create a series of a simple holiday note card set just by changing the image but continuing the same feel through papers and technique.

Today, I'd like to share an example of how you can use all the same elements - image and layout - but still get some fun variations by changing out papers and colors.

I had so much fun paper piecing Dot from Milliner Misses with PaperTemptress' Ruche Paper with a Warhol card, I could not resist making more cards with the same easy paper piecing technique. It gives such a great 3D effect to the image!

I picked 3 different color combinations to start based on 3 designer papers I liked. With Memento ink, I stamped Dot onto an oval created by my Marvy punch. I colored her face in with my 3 favorite flesh toned Copic markers - base layer of E00, major shadows with E02 and outline with E11.

From there, I stamped Dot again onto ruche paper with StazOn ink and cut out her hat and coat - which conveniently cuts out as all one piece! I attached her outerwear with adhesive and then retrimmed any overlap on the oval. After that, I used a matching Marvy punch to create a scallop mat for her. The sentiment, stamped on a simple belly band, is also from Milliner Misses. A corner-rounded panel of designer paper completes the card. To be different, I had cut my cardstock base so 4.25" x 11" so that it opens from the side instead of the bottom.

What surprised me was how different the same exact elements could look by simply switching color schemes and designer paper!

Here's Dot with a red/mustard color combo!

Here she is again with a kiwi green and pale yellow palette.

Finally, I went with an unusual twosome of rust and gray. I wanted to see what an monochromatic designer paper would look like in this layout so I took the second color from Dot's hair, which is definitely red!

Snow Hug Tags: Laura Liddell

Today I have created a couple of tags by using an image from the Snow Hugs plate. One I have left plain after using gold embossing powder over versamark on black card and then simply mounted onto a chipboard tag. The second I again used gold embossing but this time got out my Sakura pens and had a very relaxing time colouring in. It would be a great activity to do this in front of the TV of an evening. The gold embossing lines give a raised edge so it is easy to colour in neatly and not go over the lines. John always likes to watch TV with as little light as possible so this would be a great advantage.

Floriculture Tag Gets Barbara Busted

Barbara keeps getting caught Redhead-handed! Her tag for the recent Rebel Challenge #4: Tag Lines was absolutely gorgeous!

She used a base tag sprayed with Memory Mist and added elements from the Floriculture half plate and a border from the Relish Reading full plate. It's beautifully composed!

Barbara used some fabulous details here - using a Spellbinders die to frame her quote and dying her ribbon with Ranger Distress Ink to make it match!

I also decided since we are celebrating our first anniversary I would go back to the beginning and use Shar's very first stamp set release-Relish Reading. This little girl seemed like she could grace the walls of a well worn library in this portrait and as a card she can go out as a wonderful encouragement for a friend of mine who is writing her first novel.

Penny Bennington: Stylish Miss card

I've been having fun with the new Milliner Misses plate and made this z-fold card following this month's Rebel Challenge of using only one designer paper with your stamp. My paper is from "On the Boardwalk" by Graphic 45. I cut a rectangle the size I wanted and then used a Martha Stewart border punch to create my panel. The punch actually has 3 rows of half-circles, but I cut off one to have it fit my card. The stamped girl is colored with watercolor pencils and her hat embellishment is a tiny butterfly I made dimensional by cutting it out from a second stamped hat and coloring it with Glaze pens to make it look jeweled.

Jean Franks Beck: Visions of Sugarplums

The family are home today, in honor of (US) Veteran's Day, so I'm taking a few stolen moments to craft. I've been playing with the new Candy Kisses plate - I love the homespun feel of these images! I'm starting on my Christmas cards, doing the "fun" ones first - the ones that might contain gift cards or go along with a special present. Later, I'll be in "flat" mode, for the cards that need to go through the mail in nothing more than a simple envelope, LOL! But for now, I'm having fun with stamps and embellishments.

For this card, I made some patterned paper using the little peppermint stamp over some Basic Grey dotted paper. I've used the same paper for the "tag", which has some yummy-looking Christmas cupcakes, all frosted and topped with a shiny cherry. I took Shar's advice and stamped and paper-pieced with some ruched white paper - love the effect! I added some stickles and glossy accents to the cupcakes and the white ruched trim.

The "XOXO" is from the companion plate, Snow Hugs. Some Copic coloring and some crinkled seam binding finish everything off.

Happy Veteran's Day, Remembrance Day, Armistice Day - the name doesn't matter, so long as we all take a moment to say our thanks to those who've risked or given their lives to keep us free. :)

I have to admit that I had great intentions of creating art on the road this week (I'm traveling for work). But 11-hour class days are wiping me out. So I'm sharing this piece I did for Gingersnap Creations.

Do you have a bag of raffia? Did you buy it in the '80's? I did...and I still have a full bag!!!What is it about Raffia that it self-generates when you're not using it? LOL.
This is a 6x6 piece. I used the FLORICULTURE set (sun face, flowers, leaves, and check border) and a bunch of bits hanging around my desk.
I used microbeads in the center of the flowers, it added a lot of texture to the flowers. The beads are just stuck on some glue dots.

I decided to make three quick and easy tags with the quirky new Candy Kisses plate from Rogue Redhead. The bold simple designs are prefect for simple colouring styles, such as colouring with pencils on kraft card.

I also used the background from the relish reading plate with tea dye ink to produce a soft background image. I did this by covering the image with a torn scrap of post-it note, inking up the stamp and gently pressing the card onto the stamp, to get a faint uneven background. I love this effect as it takes away the starkness of a plain background, yet does not detract from the main image.

Simple Set Saturday: Happy Holidays

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday! Today, I wanted to show you an extraordinarily easy sketch which can work with any two coordinating designer papers and two coordinating cardstocks.

This simple format can be used over and over and produce a variety of looks with different papers and images. For this set, I decided to make up something for the upcoming Holidays. It's getting close to the party season and I like to give note card sets to my hardworking hostess friends. They make a distinctive gift which is practical but also personal.

I used the new Candy Kisses set to create this cute set. I started by stamping the images onto watercolor paper. Then, I watercolored the images by stamping ink on to an acrylic block and picking up the color with an Aquabrush. I used a couple shades of each color to create some depth. Our Rebel Challenge #4 is to make a tag featuring a quote.

I chose the Flaubert quote from Relish Reading for my bookmark tag. The quote, together with two other images from the set, were stamped in Versamark & clear embossed.

I started with Scattered Straw Distress ink around her face, and then moved on to Ripe Persimmon, Rusty Hinge and Frayed Burlap inks for a combination of beautiful fall hues. I added some sheer wired ribbon and a wrap of brown ribbon to complete the bookmark.

This card is made with an image and words from the soon-to-be-released Rogue Redhead plate "Milliner Misses". This is an easy peasy quick collage card. The main image is coloured with pencils, the edges distressed and inked with tea dye distress ink. and that's about as complicated as it gets.

Sharon Briss: Antique Book Plates

While reading through my latest issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter, I came across a tutorial on how to create Antique Bookplates. Knowing my obsession with all things literary, you all know I just HAD to try this one out.

I started with my go-to plate for all things involved with literature - Relish Reading - and created a vintage feel bookplate from the wonderfully detailed tutorial!

Of course, I had to go Rogue and not completely follow instructions. What else is new? So, I double matted my ATC sized bookplates and mounted them on cards. I seem to do that a lot with my ATCs lately....hmmm.

Stamps: swingers, book and Almanac page background from Relish Reading

For the second card, I kept out my Almanac page background from Relish Reading and inked up a soon-to-be-released image from Milliner Misses.

This particular young lady you may recognize from my logo. Her name is Dot in remembrance of my fantastic flapper grandmother, Doris. I'll introduce you to the rest of "the girls" when we release this stylish mini plate next month.

Shar has just sent me the new Release stamps which should be available soon at Rogue Redhead. I just could not resist using these for the Quote on a Tag. Both the quote" Good friends are always in fashion" and the superb image are part of the new stamp set "Milliner Misses", which I think is a real winner. Good Tuesday Morning Everyone!
We're starting to have some Fall weather here in N. TX. so I was inspired to make this sunny, crisp, autumn afternoon card.
I love to water color this girl from the Relish Reading stamp set and the sentiment goes just perfect with my mood the last few days. Fall is my favorite time of year.
I used the Labels Seven Nestabilities die because it is shaped like a book and I hope you can see in the photo that I gently rolled the pages, used Scor-Tape to hold them down to create the illusion of an open book. I couldn't resist adding the 3-D leaves and branches with a couple of falling acorns to the tree.

Penny Bennington: Near the Ocean's Edge

To join in with this month's Rebel Challenge, I chose to use the Thoreau quote from Beach Babes and stamped it with white pigment ink directly onto this photo of my Dad walking along the beach at Pemaquid Point. Now I know many of you would say that the beaches where you live are beautiful and sandy, but I LOVE our rocky Maine coast beaches and Pemaquid is one of my favorites. Actually where my Dad is walking is right along the cliff edge - there's a sheer drop-off right down to the Atlantic. Needless to say, Pemaquid is not a swimming kind of beach; more a hang out on the rocks and listen to the crashing waves kind of beach - so wonderful! To complete my tag, I added strips of paper using the script stamp from Relish Reading and the sand pattern stamp from Beach Babes stamped using watercolor crayons and water spritzes to give a water-like look.

Welcome to our latest Rebel Challenge! For our fourth challenge, we'd like you to feature a

Fabulous Quote
on a Tag

Your tag can be any size. It can be decorated in any way - but it must have a quote! You can even mount your tag on a card...as long as it contains a quote! We are not talking sentiments here; these have to be honest to goodness quotes.

1) You can use any products to participate in this challenge. You do not have to use Rogue Redhead Designs products but it would be fabulous if you did!

2) Your submission must include some stamping.

3) Please read the directions for the challenge. We like to add a twist here and there. Your submission must include at least one tag and at least one quote. You may, if you wish, mount your tag on a card, ATC or mixed media project as long as it follows our other guidelines.

4) Links that are not to a single post (ie only to a general blog post) will not be accepted.

5) All submission posts need to include a link back to this challenge to be eligible for the challenge prize.

One challenge winner will be drawn randomly from the qualified submissions for a $15.00 US voucher at the Rogue Redhead Store.

This challenge will end on November 6, 2011. The winner will be announced on November 9, 2011.

Happy Thursday! Here's a card with one last look at summer.

It' all started with a Memory Box paper. It had all these need spaces calling out for stamps. The little boy from Rouge Redhead Designs BEACH BABES fit perfectly. Then it was just a little embellishment to finish. The little boy was colored with colored pencils and the softened with a little gamsol.

My card was inspired by this photograph found at Creature Comfort. I loved the idea of the music of the sea and the beautiful muted hues.

I used beautiful new Lost & Found Sunshine papers from My Mind's Eye together with stamps from Beach Babes (quote and those oh-so-versatile birds) & Relish Reading (flourishes that reminded me of the ocean's waves).

I love that quote ... such a great reminder of the things we miss out on in life if we stay too close to the shore.
