Vicki Robertson: This New Year!

Another year has come and gone and it's 2014!  What?  I can remember as a kid I thought the year      2000 was eons away.  And, this year, like every other, has been a busy one already.

Rogue Redhead Designs released a new "Christmas Cheer" Stamp plate recently with great holiday and winter images.  One of my favorite stamps in the set is the holly branch.
 "happy new year"
I created my card using two images from this new release...the holly branch and "happy new year" sentiment.

The card is basic A2 size, 4 1/14" x 5 1/2" with the base being craft cardstock and an added layer of snowflake covered patterned paper for the background.

On the top layer of patterned paper, I stamped and embossed my images, the holly branch and "happy new year" sentiment with Versamark watermark ink and gold embossing powder.  I used my "go to" punch, the Martha Stewart lace border, across the bottom of the paper.  Using SEI gold mesh ribbon, I tied a bow with my Craft-Dee BowZ tool and wrapped it across the bottom edge of the patterned paper.  As a finishing touch, I added three Robin's Nest Dew Drops at the center of the branches.

Thanks for looking!
Vicki

trisha too: a precious pair

I've been working on several small handbound books, about 1 1/2 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches tall, filled with proverbs and such.  When I lettered a layout with "all precious,"  a precious pair came immediately to mind:
Do you recognize these little ladies?  You'll find them on the new plate release, Christmas Cheer, but clearly these two aren't just for Christmas!  They're adorable from the tops of their big hair bows, right down to the tips of their Mary Jane shoes.

So is the stamp on the opposite page--beautiful details on it:
(I mean the details on the stamp, not the page!)

Helene Huber: Best Friends Valentine

I'm so very pleased to introduce to you the latest Rogue Redhead Designs, LLC half plate:  RRD0014 Christmas Cheer

I chose these two lovely girls from the set to stamp and color.  This is quickly becoming my new favorite stamp!

Since I wanted to concentrate on showcasing the stamp, I chose a ready made tag and word labels from Heather Hudson's digital collage collection: My Artistic Adventures.

I used Ranger Distress Markers to color and edge papers:
vintage photo, bundled sage, picket fence, spun sugar, and wild honey
Copic ciao Y11 for hair
Sakura Gelly Roll Clear Star pen to highlight pink roses
Clear Glaze pen on hobnails to accentuate oval
white pen
pink ribbon from stash

My color palette emphasizes a winter theme, appropriate for either Christmas or Valentine's Day, or as a birthday gift tag.  If you create Christmas all year long, this set has wonderful images to keep you going. Or you can do as I did, and extend these stamps to other occasions.  Don't you just love that?

Now is the time to snap up this plate--at its introductory special price!

Krisha: Lay Claim to Your Fate!

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone is off to a fresh start, or at least getting things caught up.
Sometimes DT work can be a challenge, and I had been wrestling around with what I wanted to do for this week.  I wanted to use my "new" stamps, but they are Christmas, and let's face it I am running on a burn out there! LOL

This started as a test of a new stamp from Rogue Redhead Designs' new Christmas Cheer (RRD 014) plate.  The test image is the spear looking image, once I stamped the image I was in love with it, and I had just used a scrap of cs.  Ok, what now?

Needing to do something different than Christmas style cards, I chose the sentiment from Rogue Redhead Designs This N That (RRD013) plate and brought it close to the spear.  Masked off a square and shaded it with colored pencil, also adding a shade to the square itself and to the spear, still on the scrap of cs.
The main white square is raised on pop dots and then mounted to the dark brown.  This is all mounted to a card base the same color as the main square.  I added a Fleur-de-lis button with brads in the holes for a finishing touch.

All that procrastinating and this card came together so fast I am still stunned.......LOL

Barbara Washington: Get My Drift?

Today I'm sharing a blast from the past. The hours and hours of snow falling in Chicago inspired me to pull out my retired RRD Candy Kisses stamp sheet. I used the Technique Junkies technique Overstamped Bands as my background. The snowflakes were stamped in shades of blue. I added the mittens and the sentiment (both from Candy Kisses). I certainly prefer to see snow on cards rather than on the streets.
Don't forget to check out the current specials. Be safe everyone.
