Helene Huber: Carnival of Cupcake Toppers

You can make any gathering more festive with some quick and easy cupcake toppers, especially if you save even more time by buying the cupcakes!!!!

Start with lollipop sticks which you'll top with layers of circle and scallop punched papers.  I stamped images from the Carnival Dreams stamp plate onto various papers and cut them with a circle punch.  After quickly coloring with color pencils and a gold sparkle pen, I adhered them to the scallop circles and added gold dots.

Note:  instead of cupcake toppers, you can use the same concept to sandwich a wrapped circle candy in-between the scalloped circles (such as a wrapped chocolate peppermint patty).  Or perhaps some napkin rings? Drink coasters (with a little glue and seal) ??  I know, I know--now  you're thinking about all the great Rogue Redhead stamps that you can use for various holidays to make your table even more festive!

To keep with this month's color theme of gold, purple and green, I bought cupcakes frosted in green and dark purple.  I added to the sticks curling ribbon and baker's twine in matching colors.  As you can see I placed 3 of the cupcakes in a pedestal bowl draped with carnival beads. They are so laden with festiveness that I put one cupcake on the table in front of the bowl so that you could get the full effect of the topper.

Krisha with Dot and a Thank You

Dot is the name of this pretty stamp from Rogue Redhaed Designs.  She is part of the Milliner Misses, mini plate RRD007 , and tends to be one of the first ones I choose.  Doesn't she look Irish all dressed in her greens?  She was colored with felt pens then fussy cut to be mounted on a designer paper (deep from within my stash)  I embossed the solid blue with dots ( appropriate don't ya think?)  I added a green ribbon across the bottom with a strip of blue Washi tape over that. It was all mounted on a white card base. The sentiment was stamped on a die cut (also from stash)  I also found one in the same lime green, but just used the end pieces for accent.  A few rhinestones and Dot was ready to go, maybe to an Irish Pub for a St. Patty's Day celebration.

Barbara Washington: Masquerade

Today I'm continuing with the fun Mardi Gras theme. I used the Rogue Sketch shared on the Rogue Stampers Facebook Page as a basis for my layout. My featured stamps are from the RRD stamp sheet  Carnival Dreams, which is now on sale for half price -- only $3.75 while supplies last.
Back to the card, the base card is metallic gold. The background panel is a piece of Shimmer Sheetz which I die cut out the oval and then dry embossed with the fleur de lis pattern. The images are colored using watercolor pencils on watercolor paper.

Vicki...Carnival Dreams and Mardi Gras!

Today is Mardi Gras...also known as Fat Tuesday, it's the end of the annual  Carnival celebration in New Orleans, Louisiana in the United States.  Mardi Gras is a time of music, parades, costumes, great food and fun traditions immediately preceding the beginning of the Christian Lenten Season.

One Mardi Gras tradition is everyone wears purple, gold and green while adorned with beads thrown from the parade floats.  The card I am sharing today, celebrates Mardi Gras in these traditional colors using the Rogue Redhead Designs Carnival Dreams mini collection.

"Mardi Gras"

I used the Mardi Gras sentiment along with one of the couple images on my card.  Both are stamped in purple distress ink on white cardstock and cut out with die-cuts.  I embellished them with pearls, glitter pen and 3-D stickers.

The card is made with glitter, mulberry and foil specialty papers. I embossed the foil paper with the Fleur de lis, a symbol of French heraldry and seen everywhere in the city of New Orleans.

The headdress behind the sentiment is made of  green, yellow, and purple feathers along with a gold glitter die-cut made using one of my favorite Memory Box dies, Brea.
